English: Illich Guardiola

Mr. Guardiola has voiced quite a few anime in his own right. I believe Sha Gojyo/Kenren was one of his first big roles. We (husband and I) absolutely love him in Saiyuki.

Aside from Gojyo and Kenren in Gensomaden Saiyuki (boo on the Geneon "Reload" dub-they RUINED it), my favorites include the sweet "Masaru Kato" from Gantz, and the hilarious Shinjiro Hayashida from "Cromartie High School" (Sakigake!! Cromartie Koukou).

Illich went to school with some people such as Monica Rial and Shelley Calene-Black who worked for ADV Films. He called once but nothing really happened, but later on he came to a cattle-call. After that, he got a couple of roles then eventually got around to the big roles like Sha Gojyo.

Illich was born in Honduras to a half-Russian mother and half-Italian father. He has the coolest accent: After Honduras, He then moved to Boston when he was young and lived there until he was about thirteen, when his family moved to College Station, Texas. (Go Aggies! Ahem. Well, I am an Aggie. Class of '97) That makes his accent Honduran, Russian, Italian, Bostonian, and Texan, all blended together. And I thought my accent was mixed!

He has been known to wear the very cool 'Tough Guys Wear Pink' T-shirt from Hot Topic.
