For reasons unknown to me, the animators of Gensomaden Saiyuki decided to give our dear general here red hair & eyes. I am not sure if they thought us viewers would be too stupid to realize he is Gojyo's past incarnation or what. On one hand, I wish they left him with his tripping and very sexy black hair and twilight-colored eyes. After all, red hair & eyes is this gigantic symbol of a mixed demon/human parentage. Which is what makes Gojyo is special and endearing. Kenren had no affiliated background of this kind, so why the animators chose to do this is really beyond my scope of understanding. On the other hand...I am just overjoyed to see him in animated action. Ahh, so many conflicting emotions....Kenren does this to many women, no doubt...
